We’re back in Mark’s Gospel. Joe introduces us to the Syrophoenician woman who came to Jesus as we read in Mark 7 24-30.
She came to Him because she knew He was the only hope for her daughter. And, even when it might look, at first reading, like Jesus was snubbing her, she recognised the glorious truth. Since the beginning, God’s plan was for One People who would be to His praise and glory.
One People – not just the biological descendants of Abraham, but a People from every tribe and tongue.
His People.
His Church.
