Okay

After receiving a threat, Clair is being guarded around the clock at her fatherâs orders. Her bodyguard, Michael, is a hard, stoic, and honorable man, who will do anything to protect Clair.

Just like the title states, this is one night with her bodyguard.

Story was okay. It had one threat, one love scene, and a happily ever after.

Fun quick read

This is a short story about Claire Kenyon and her bodyguard Michael Lyle. Michael is her father's head of security. He has be previously offered a position with her fathers company but declined. It becomes clear that the reason Michael is not pursuing his career is because of his feelings for Claire. Claire suffers from extreme shyness. She does not like social interactions at all. Michael understands this and helps her feel more comfortable. This is an easy short read.

Language: This book had mild language. Just use of very mild swear words in appropriate context.

Sex: There is a fairly graphic sex scene it is not until later in the book and is a man/woman scene.

Story: This book is a short story but the emphasis is on the story not the sex so scores high on the sex to story ratio

Funny Series!

This was instalment three in the One Night Novella series and another quick and easy read. In this one we meet Claire who is painfully shy and the man that has been working to protect her family for years.

The plot follows the typical formula of a contemporary romance but it does so in a short amount of pages. Within the few pages you will find everything from romance to some hot and steamy action. In other words, a great read for fans of contemporary who don't have a lot of time on their hands to commit to a much longer story.

I have slowly been working my way through all of the novellas in this series when I need a quick reading fix. So far I have not been disappointed. I could really relate to Claire in this instalment because I too suffer from extreme shyness and a bit of social anxiety. I felt like I really understood her.

I look forward to reading more from this author when I get the opportunity!

Claire and Michael were very alike. Michael was her bodyguard so he was very quite and reserve and very much like he said in the novella - furniture. Claire is not good in crowds and is very much an introvert. So she too is very quiet and reserve.
