Really loved this new one from Monica!

Monica Murphy. What can I say about Monica Murphy other than I flipping love her books!!!! One Week Girlfriend is probably one of my all-time favorites. So when I heard about His Reverie I knew that I had to purchase this book the minute it became available. And let me tell youâ..it was sooo worth it. The book had its problems but overall I really enjoyed this new book.

Nick has spent eleven months in jail for a crime he didnât commit. His mom dies shortly after and now he is on his own. He has to find a job to pay the rent and keep him alive until he can find a way out of the town he is in. Let me just remind you this kid is Seventeen. He has been through so much and now he is just trying to survive. He gets a job with the famous Reverend Hale. That is where he meets Reverie. He knows he canât have her. She is too pure for the darkness that is his life. But he canât help the pull she has and soon he stops fighting.

I both like and disliked Nickâs character. Nick has a hard life. Not only has he been through jail and his mother dying but he has always lived hard. On the wrong side of the tracks. I really felt for his character. He just wants to go somewhere were people wonât know who he is. The part that bothered me about Nick is that he seemed to always be thinking about Reverie is sexual terms. Yes I understand he is a teenage boy but he only mentioned the pull or any other feeling he has for Reverie a few times. It started to bother me how much he thought of her that way. At times he can be pretty judgey too. Other than that I liked his character. He was desperate to keep his job but he was also desperate to keep Reverie safe. Which we saw in the cliffhanger.

Reverie is Reverend Haleâs daughter. She is as pure as pure can get. She has never flirted with boys, touched boys, or had any real contact that wasnât her brother or father. She has always been sheltered by her family. She is bored and lonely. Until Nicholas shows up at her summer house. She knows she wants all of her firsts to be with him. All of them. She plans on giving the summer and so much more to Nicholas. No matter what secrets he is hiding. She plans to stand by him no matter what.

I really liked Reverieâs character. She was innocent in every way but she didnât let that hold her back. She was awkward and shy but she also had enough back bone to go after what she wanted. She wants Nick and she works hard to get him. Sometimes I thought she was really naive.

Love the easy story line great book. Tell everyone about this book. Some parts are funny.

Elise and Luke!

After her father was diagnosed with cancer Elise has returned home to help out her family. While out with friends she reunites with Luke the former hockey college star. They had always been attracted to each other however she didnt act on it because of her conservative upbringing and he was a player and he didnt act on it as his best friend was dating her best friend and he didnt want it to get uncomfortable.

A few drinks later and they act on their attraction however one night is not enough for either of them. As they spend time together Elise realizes that there is much more to him than his outward persona but is there a compromise to be had between two very different people with very different lifestyles?

The narrator did a great job at bringing the story to life and helping you experience what the characters were experiencing.

Realistic, Hot, Entertaining

I enjoyed this book very much. It was my first time reading thus author. Luke and Elise werent perfect people which made them feel more real. I enjoyed the surprise revelation about Luke.

A very steamy listen, but a great story!

This is a steamy romance with some interesting story twists. The characters are quirky and likable, and the other topics woven into the story make for an interesting and relevant listen. The narrator grew on me as the story progressed. Definitely would recommend if you like your romance novels a little "Dirty"!

Loved The Trilogy

Shes too good of an author for that abrupt ending

Excellent

The entire series is simply excellent! Well written and, equally important, VERY well narrated.

I came upon this series while following Georgia Maguire. For those of you avid listeners and fans of multiple casts, there is no one like Miss Maguire. Her excellent reading skills and uncanny talent to change accents, dialects, voices, etc. is by far the best i've ever listened to.

Now, for this series...it has all you want and expect in a family saga. It is a story of a family who faces love, happiness, sadness, tragedy and much more.

I fell in Love with Dora and Joe and I would have liked for book 3 to continue thier saga and not concentrate it on their girls. I think those of us who love this series would enjoy a trilogy on the girls and thier families.

I recommend this trilogy. I will listen to it again and again.

This was a great book for the first book. The characters are well developed and the writing is well done. The characters are easy to like and empathize with.Wish we could have gotten the males POV too though. The narration was good too. Glad I took a chance and listened to it. Sweet Christmas Romance

This is a sweet romance set in Portugal. I always enjoy learning about another culture. The story is set around the Christmas and it is perfect for this time of the year.

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

The main characters are likable and interesting. Krystal is a professional surfer and Adolfo is an Olive Farmer. Krystal is determined to spend Christmas in the USA with her father. But an accident brings them together, and Adolfo tries to convince her to spend Christmas in Portugal.

The story concludes with a HEA. I enjoyed the ups and downs and the second chance romance. It was nice that this is set around the holidays.

Great read

A Portuguese Christmas was another great read by Josie Riviera. Krystal is a surfer who had a wipeout that changed everything. She is trying to spend Christmas back at Rhode Island but the after effects of her wipeout are keeping her in Portugal.

Superb story!

I waited till the final book to write this review. The reason was I couldn't stop listening to it not even to write the review. I laughed and cried while reading it. The story was brought to life in my mind by Lexy . I spent all day yesterday and all night listening because I couldn't stop. I couldn't wait to find out what happened so I finished it before I quit lol. Yeah I'm kinda sleep deprived but it was so worth going without sleep. Anyone who doesn't read this or get it on audiobook are missing something special. Seriously this was one of the best books I've ever read or listened to lol ! Thank you Lexy for such an awesome story I loved every minute of it !

Almost Mediocre

This book reminded me how frustrated it has become to be a reader/listener of lesbian romance; why can't my people write a good romance novel? Normally a considerate reviewer would give a spoiler alert prior to writing all this but since there's not really all that much to spoil anyway.

Quinn and Grace have been the best of friends for 20 years, since the night that Quinn tried to pick up Grace, only to hear Grace tell her she needed a friend more than we needed a hookup. Unfortunately for them both Quinn can't seem to grasp the concept that things can, and often do change. The fact that practically everyone who spends more than 10 minutes around them sees it and shares it with them; somehow, as it so often happens in fiction they don't listen. Thus listeners waste a few hours waiting for the light bulb to go on for the two of them, because like far too many romances where this tired old plot line is trotted out the angst seems to last forever. This might have been good enough if not for one major flaw; for most of the book Quinn is unlikable. She is basically a selfish bitch, not good enough for Grace, totally self absorbed and needlessly cruel to her so called best friend. Then in a weird, convoluted, not very believable sequence she and Grace come together and a couple, three ridiculously cheezy scenes end a story that can't quite make it to mediocrity.

Dont listen at bedtime

The book is a fine HEA romance. It feels like it could have been 75 to 100 pages shorter by cutting back on the characters hand wringing but it didnt make the story unpleasant.

The narration however, is a whole other thing. Im not sure if the producer slowed down the speed of speech if that is the narrators natural cadence, but the pace was positively soporific.

better if you just bought the book

it was a good story although I got annoyed by Quinn at some point's it was still pretty good personally though I didnt like the voice acting it was monotone and didnt have much variety but I still got through the book easily enough

Could Be Improved

The overall premise of the book is pretty standard. The writing isn't great, but isn't bad. I would call this an easy read/listen with a predictable plot. The listening experience could be significantly improved upon with a different narrator.

This story made no sense

This book made no sense. I haven't finished it, and I doubt I will.. And I even have it on audible. I cannot stand Quinn.

Heart wrenchingly good!!

I didn't know what to expect when I purchased this audiobook. I've never read a book by this author, but decided to give it a listen. I was so surprised by the depth of emotion this author dragged out of these people. This is a story of love found, love lost and life going on. About forgiving yourself and being true to who you really are. I will be looking for more books by this author right away. Narration was superb as well.

This was my first Abby Brooks books and I especially love celebrity meets their Cinderella story line. I was really hoping this book would have the depth like some Corrine Michaels books or some of my other favorite writers. unfortunately, there were so many times I kept thinking that this author could have done more with the scene and dialog. If you're a romance book lover that likes a little more steam with great character and story depth, you might be a bit diappointed in this fairly vanilla story. Honestly, this is not uncommon for some average romantic writers. the great writers and story tellers know how to make stories that grip their audience That's why they are great and this is slightly better than average. Yet, I enjoyed the storyline enough and the narrators were better than average therefore, I will more than likely finish the series and get the next audio.

Yes, this book kept me engaged and waiting to know what is coming.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bailey is my favorite character. Without giving any spoilers, she has overcome a lot of challenges and still keeps moving forward.

What does Joe Arden and Stephanie Rose bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

They bring life to the story. I am not an imaginative person. Hearing someone else read it brings the book to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was at time heartbroken, then at times happy and as the characters move throughout life you really can identify with the characters.
