That pivotal moment launched Wipe Every Tear, an organization working in the epicenter of Southeast Asian sex tourism to rescue women and provide comprehensive rehabilitation through education.
The reality Kenny describes is sobering. In Angeles City alone, approximately 12,000 women work across 240 bars, most having been trafficked from remote provinces through false promises of legitimate employment. What makes this situation particularly insidious is that these bars systematically exclude Filipino citizens from entering, instead catering exclusively to foreign visitors—a discriminatory practice requiring international mission teams to access these spaces for rescue operations.
What sets Wipe Every Tear apart is their holistic, long-term approach to transformation. Rather than simply removing women from danger, they provide safe housing, daily stipends, and most importantly, education—from elementary completion through college graduation. Kenny explains that in Filipino culture, quality employment opportunities typically require college degrees, making education the critical pathway out of exploitation. The comprehensive rehabilitation addresses "body, mind, soul, and spirit," teaching everything from basic hygiene to financial literacy and professional skills.
The impact is profound. With over 80 college graduates, their success stories include women who have become pastors, professionals, and advocates. As Kenny puts it, these women are "worth every nickel" invested in their freedom.
