One person is dead and another hospitalized after four homes in Duquesne went up in flames overnight. Firefighters arrived on the scene of a home fully engulfed in flames shortly after 1 a.m. in the one hundred block of North Third Street where one person was found dead and at least one other person was taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. Two homes on the block were ruled a total loss, a third home had “significant water damage” and charring on its roof, and a fourth home was impacted by heat damage. All four homes were occupied at the time. It’s unclear how the fire started. The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
