Many leaders often make the mistake of thinking their way is the right way, like how they got to their leadership role is the way others will do the same. Or, their needs for balance in their 20s are the same as those in their 20s today. Or, how they approach a challenge is the same way someone else should. However, great leaders get out of the bad habit of thinking this way. They focus on the idea that “one size doesn’t fit all”. Everyone is unique and individual differences in needs and approaches are part of life.
