Ian‘s artistic practice explores memory and trace by connecting archival histories, language, and personal biography. Working across photography, sculpture, sound, and installation, he uses everyday materials to reflect on what remains undocumented and to question the conditions and politics of memory formation.

We discuss several of his exhibitions, his relationship to his own biography, the construction of spaces within spaces, and exhibitions that function differently depending on the time of day.
