Governments around the world are pushing for mandatory ID verification, surveillance, and sweeping censorship in the name of “safety.” What does this mean for online freedom, privacy, and dissent?

Spotify is already requiring UK users to undergo facial scanning or upload government ID to access content labeled 18+, following the Online Safety Act. Refuse? Your account could be deleted. Likewise, platforms like Reddit, Discord, and even dating apps are being forced into similar compliance, creating what critics are calling a digital prison system.
