During an online Urbano Members Networking Round Table, in addition to the usual 'who you are/where you are/what you do and who for' introductions, I asked each attendee to share their own experiences and tips on how to turn those initial introductions made at networking events into valuable relationships that produce new business opportunities.

A lovely conversation with Lucy Dunne for this episode who you will gather is a lot younger than Mark and offers a fresh perspective on networking which should be an especially valuable listen for those new to the world of business networking and find the prospect of meeting new people daunting.
Lucy is Marketing and Social Value Coordinator at Rooff who are members of Urbano Network. She has taken part in a previous podcast recording of our online speaker panel event on New Procurement Regulations which featured Rebecca Rees of Trowers & Hamlins and Caroline Brockof this parish & Talent Lab.
I chatted to Lucy about how she finds networking as a young woman in a male-dominated industry like construction. The story of how she got her job through Claire Bullen is also exactly why any connection can deliver new opportunities.

Support the showOne of Urbano's longest standing and most loyal members, Mark took some time out of Elle Moss' exceedingly busy diary to chat about how she has used networking to grow her design-based branding agency Drew London.
They discuss how they met a million years ago in Clerkenwell, how networking is a mix of the personal and business, and also the joys - or otherwise... - of hosting your own networking events.
- BTW, to make sense of the opening remarks, this was recorded over Zoom and Elle was in a bare room that had a TV stand but no TV. But that's Brixton for you.
