over

these tongues so tied.

I'd take the red,

from this sailors morning,

and paint you the sky,

with her cautious warnings.

I would…..I would,

But I'd never change,

your mind

if I could,

Because hands are not prisoners

they should not be slaves.

I'll fear the sun,

I'll greet the rain

grey and true.

Even when life's no picnic

for one,

let alone two.

If I'm a fool,

let it be done,

let me fall on the sword,

of the enemy I love.

Though I bleed,

I know I am alive,

and painful as it seems,

I'll stop breathing

when I'm ready,

to die.

I will love, I'll love foolishly

I'll love beyond the shadows,

or the light, imperfectly…..

Beyond the games we play,

I know

I'll risk it again,

even when I say I won't

I know thats a statement

not a question.

Because I love,

thats all I know,

thats all this life amounts to,

the rests for show.

Call me crazy,

pat me on the head,

then pull your chilly sheets,

closer to you

in your bed.

Life is no picnic,

thats nothing new,

but I still find I'm hungry,

even

when you're full.
