Key Bible Verse: "Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full." John 15: 9-11
Happiness is circumstantial. JOY is not.
Key bible Verse: "Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Nehemiah 8: 10b
Key Bible Verse: "Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the LORD. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the LORD." Jeremiah 23: 24
In Part One, we examined four wrong motives that too often drive people, including Christians. In Part Two we dared to examine the motives of God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and why they think and act as they do toward us. Today I closed this series - juxtaposing the four wrong motives by filtering them thru the motives of God. The result is four biblical motives straight from the heart and mouth of God that Christians and the church MUST own if we are to save our nation and world for Christ's sake alone. It begins with each Christian allowing God the Holy Spirit to shine a light on every dark nook and cranny that you think you are hiding and every idol you cling to. He needs total access to our lives to conform us to the image of Christ. If you will not surrender all, how can you say you have been crucified with Christ?
Let God (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) answer in His own words some of your why" questions.
Key Bible Verse: "(Adam) said, I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.” Genesis 3: 10
Key Bible Verse(s): "fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12: 2-3
Key Bible Verses: “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they will not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4: 1-4
Key Bible Verses: "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie..." Romans 1: 25-32
Key Bible Verses: ""For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”" Romans 1: 16-17
Key Bible Verse: "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1: 18
