In Romans chapter 9, Paul calls us to consider God’s sovereign purposes in history and the unique role that ethnic Israel plays in his plans both now and into the future. On Sunday, we will consider the merciful incorporation of Gentiles into the church of Jesus Christ and God’s ongoing commitment to Israel, in order to better understand our own unique place in God’s story. Along the way we will see how a biblical view of God’s sovereignty gives us greater security, humility, and compassion, while pushing us out in mission to the world.
