It’s time for a spooky season road trip! We’re headed to Ancient City, or as it’s more commonly known, St. Augustine, Florida. Our first stop will be the Ancient City Inn where a mysterious grey figure lurks and loud thuds fill the eerie silence of the night. Next, we’ll visit the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, home to the ghosts of three girls who lost their life in a tragic accident. No trip to St. Augustine would be complete without a stop at the Old Jail where a mysterious shadow figure lurks in the shadows. Lastly, we’ll visit the St. Francis Inn which operates as a B&B. The most haunted room is Lily’s room where a distraught soldier ended his life after his uncle fired his beloved Lily. It’s going to be a long drive, so bring a book, some snacks, and something to calm your nerves.

Welcome to another Film vs. Fact episode where we look at the true paranormal story and compare it with the film version. For this one, we’ll tackle one of the most famous horror films of the 1970s: The Exorcist. William Blatty’s 1971 novel of the same name was a huge success and the 1973 film would become the highest grossing R-rated film for almost 30 years until it was finally surpassed by The Matrix Reloaded in 2003. The film’s popularity is undeniable, but what about the story itself? Of course it was based on a true story, that’s why we’re here! The film is inspired by the 1949 exorcism of a thirteen-year-old Maryland boy. Did the film get anything right? You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out. You might want to listen to this one with lights on.

Welcome to another Paranormal Rewatch. This time, we’ll examine a 2020 Ghost Hunters episode starring Grant Wilson as he and the gang investigate the very haunted town of Clifton, Arizona in S2 E1 “Terror Town Part 1.” The mining town was once known as one of the most violent places in the Old West. Maybe that’s why such a small town has four cemeteries. Every square inch of this town is haunted from the Clifton Jail to the Clifton Hotel. Even the streets have their share of apparitions. Welcome to the first full episode of Spooky Season! In this installment, we’re going back to school: it is September, after all. We’ll visit two haunted schools beginning with Chatham University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. The Chatham Cougars excel in academics, sports, and ghosts. You heard that right. From the sounds of babies crying in the night to visitations from the Blue Lady, there’s more to this campus than its strong health sciences programs. Next, we’ll visit Brodhead, Wisconsin and check in on the old Broadhead school that has found new life as Brodhead Manor. The manor spent ninety years as a school until it was bought by Bill Wolter and turned into a Halloween style haunted house. Little did Bill know, some of the ghosts weren’t paid actors. Walk the halls of this old school and you might encounter the spirit of a little girl, or worse, a janitor who’s protective of his boiler room. Check in with your admissions councilor and sign up for classes because you won’t want to miss this one.

Welcome to another Unrelated Ghosts episode where we dive into two locations that have nothing in common with one another. Nothing except that they’re both haunted, of course. First, we’ll visit the fascinating story of Eastern Airlines Flight 401. The fatal flight caused a global transformation in airline safety, but the thing people remember the most is the ghosts that people began to see after the airline recycled some of the parts from the crash and used them in other planes in the fleet. The next stop on our unrelated haunts tour will take us to Hales Bar Dam on the Tennessee River near Chattanooga. It’s once again time to pack the Ope, A Ghost Van, for a haunted road trip—but this time, we’re going to need a boat, because we’re crossing the Atlantic to explore the haunted city of Manchester, England. A huge thank-you to our Manc friend Zoe for the invitation! We’ve traveled to some seriously haunted locations over the years, but Manchester ranks near the very top of our list of the most haunted cities we’ve ever visited.

We’ll kick off our tour deep beneath the city, exploring Manchester’s mysterious underground tunnels where the Phantom Doctor is said to roam. Then, speaking of doctors, we’ll head to Barnes Hospital, where a ghostly nurse is said to wander the halls—and the faint sobbing of children can be heard echoing through the old ward. You’ll also hear the ghastly tale of Hannah Beswick, better known as the Manchester Mummy, whose bizarre and chilling story has become one of the city’s most infamous legends. And don’t leave just yet, there are three more spooky locations waiting to be investigated, each with its own dark history and paranormal tales. Buckle up, because this is going to be one unforgettable haunted road trip!

Lighthouses have been around for more than 2200 years, lighting the way for ships and warning of shallow waters. For most of that time, lighthouses required a human operator: someone to manage the light. The light keeper was a dedicated person, often serving the light for a decade or more. With that kind of devotion, is it any wonder many of them are haunted? In this episode, we visit six such lighthouses. In Michigan we’ll visit one that’s home to a keeper known to enjoy cheap cigars and another where a child’s barefoot apparition wanders. We’ll drop in at Long Island Sound where a dark history permeated the lighthouse. Lastly, we’ll visit a Maryland lighthouse where disembodied voices hang in the air and where singing and laughter have been heard on several occasions.

The autumn of 1973 saw a wave of UFO sightings across the country, but especially in the south. While many of those sightings were mere lights in the sky, some were much more. One in particular stands out among the rest. On a warm October evening in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker were fishing on the Pascagoula River when they were interrupted by a strange light. At first, they thought the police had come to chase them off the run-down property. What followed would come to be known as the Pascagoula Incident and stands as one of the most widely publicized alien abduction stories since the Barney and Betty Hill story came out less than a decade before. Since then, several witnesses have come forward to corroborate Charlie and Calvin’s story including a local sheriff who secretly recorded the men and their tale.
