  • Open Metalcast Episode #135: Bite-sized metal satisfaction

Here at the Open Metalcast headquarters we're looking at the throes of summer as it winds down for the year. This is the time where people plan out vacations and other assorted trips and really don't have much time for much else. We here at Open Metalcast understand your busy schedule and have set up nine tracks of metal for you in a small, easy to digest format. And what a selection we have for you, including tracks from Last Fear, Artificial Construct, Rather Be Alive, Napalm Strike, Chisme Animal, Traboute, and ČudNoReĐe. We even snuck in some brand new Mean Messiah for you. And while Open Metalcast sort-of-celebrates it's sixth year we also celebrate five years of Discos Macarras with a track by Memest from their 5 Years of Doom and Dark Sounds compilation. It's a show that moves at the pace of your busy lifestyle in easy-to-share MP3 and ever-so-trendy OGG. Available wherever fine podcasts are purveyed.

    • Open Metalcast Episode #134: Short on Words, Long on Metal

Trying to finish up this episode before heading to bed (which tends to be a theme, as I try to get these out before I hit the hay). Decided to start this episode with some of the more epic tracks and mix things up a bit. We have the first two tracks from Aktarum's Game of Trolls, followed by a soaring track from Skyforest. Then we finish off the set with the epical tale of Daedalus and his ingenious wings which doomed his son when the son flew too close to the sun. And then four crushing tracks by Chamber of Rotrute, Depths of Black, Rebel Wizard and Sysmo Finish off the second act. And you won't want to miss the post-metal track by Wreck and Reference that sounds both unique and familiar and downright good. It's a show you won't want to miss!

      • (00:10) Opening Game by Aktarum from Game of Trolls (BY-SA)
      • (01:21) Game of Trolls by Aktarum from Game of Trolls (BY-SA)

      • (21:21) The Riot of Cadavers by Chamber of Torture from Cadaverous Omen (BY-SA)
      • (24:46) Human (feat. Anton Nikolaev) by Depths Of Black from Human Fucktory [EP] (BY)
      • (28:42) A place to rest the dead inside is never to be found by REBEL WIZARD from Invocation of the miserable ones (BY-SA)
      • (31:40) Krakatokalipsys by Sysmo from RxDxCx (BY)

Seriously, it's because of you that we all keep doing this. So give yourself a pat on the back for being awesome. Because if it weren't for you I'd be playing this all by my lonesome. Kudos!
