Last week Joe's picks proved to be the most astute, and besides a Cowboys loss that none of the three saw coming, picked every game correctly. He looks to build on that successful prognostication this week against Calvin and Chris in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs. The picks are bookended by a discussion of a vintage 80's video featuring one of the signature hairstyles of the era and a discussion on the broadcasting booths. We hope you enjoy our picks. We appreciate all of our listeners and viewers. Check us out on your preferred media source. #theOpenTabsPodcast

Can a movie be both a classic and a bad movie? Can it be entertaining and bad simultaneously? In the case of this episode's film Purple Rain we think the answer to both of those questions is yes. There is no question about the impact of this film on the culture, music, and entertainment at large. The questions are about the plot and acting which at times was laughable, but here we are! Purple Rain remains amazing in spite of if not because of it's flaws! We can't wait for you to hear our thoughts about it. Let us know what you think. This week we discuss the Ben Affleck directed story of how Air Jordan came to be, 2023's Air. We talk about our respective shoe journeys and discuss some of the amazing performances as well as what they got right and what wasn't quite true. It's the "newest" movie we've ever discussed but the conversation is very much rooted in 1984. We talk about the elephant in the room, was Jordan necessary for the film. Listen and see what we had to say.

On this episode of the Open Tabs Podcast we cover another Roman Polanski film, released in 1968 Rosemary's Baby. Joe doesn't do horror movies, but what we learned even more so was that Joe doesn't do BAD HUSBANDS. Guy Woodhouse is a bad husband. Joe makes his feelings very clear about Guy early on. Calvin loves villains, Guy is definitively a villain, suffice to say there is a difference of opinion on Guy, though we agree he is deplorable. That discussion and more are held on this episode on a genre defining, ground breaking film. Join us as we discuss "All Of Them Witches". Make sure you like, subscribe, follow, all those things! Thanks for listening and watching! #theopentabspodcast

If you watched last week's episode you are probably wondering where Rosemary's Baby is. Keep praying for her baby, we'll discuss that film next week, in the meantime we had some thoughts we had to get out about the playoffs. Calvin's on an unprecedented playoff pick run, at 10-0 so far. Can it continue? Well listen and let us know what you think. Also we had thoughts on a ton of other things. This episode is a bit of a mish mash but it's also Joe and Calvin doing what they do. We like it, we hope you do as well. We promise Rosemary's Baby next week! Like, subscribe, and comment! We appreciate you all! #theopentabspodcast

This is a good one folks! On this episode we start by recapping the previous weeks picks! We did well, Joe went 5/6, Calvin went 6/6. We made picks for next week as well. We had a little banter about the Boston MLK Statue, you know how we do. Then we jumped into this episodes topic, Richard Donner's The Goonies. As you can imagine there is a lot to say and say it we did. We know this is a beloved movie so we wanted to do it justice with a great discussion and as always we hope that you all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it! As always we appreciate you listening and watching. Like and subscribe. Tell someone about us! #theopentabspodcast

We love music on #theopentabspodcast anyway you choose it! But we really love the genre of Yacht Rock! Retrospectively named in 2005, it's a sub genre of soft rock that gives you that feeling of sailing off of the Catalina Coast after the old Catalina Wine Mixer. Maybe you have a special someone with you, maybe you have a bottle of Malbec and a Chacuterie board. You decide, but what you must have is the right music! Well we discuss what the right music is, who the right artists are and we even did you the solid of creating a spotify playlist to go with this episode! It's our season 4 premier episode in earnest and we can't wait to bring you our line up! In the meantime listen to or watch this episode. Like and subscribe. Recommend it to a fellow music lover, but don't tell us what we "forgot" because while we may have left it off we forgot NOTHING! Season 4! Open Tabs!

It's the best time of year. Sure the Holidays are great, but we are talking about the Fantasy Football Playoffs here!! To make it to the finals you need some luck and a trade here or there, but year in and year out the teams that perform the best are the ones who draft the best. Kevin Costner stars in Ivan Reitman's last directorial effort along with Jennifer Garner and Chadwick Boseman among others to put together this film that gets better with each viewing. We are joined a bit later by Calvin's brother in law Tony Braswell who lends some expert insight into the film. Check us out and let us know what you think! #theOpenTabsPodcast
