Did you know that, according to statistics, about 20 people experience physical domestic abuse every minute in the United States? One in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced physical domestic violence in one form or another. The number of individuals who experience emotional domestic abuse -- unfathomable.
Today's episode features Jessica Bolden-Cross, a two-time domestic violence relationship survivor, and Felecia Thomas, a 23-year employee of a multi-county domestic abuse center. Jessica shares her story for the first time and gives first-hand descriptions of going from a physically violent relationship with one individual to an emotionally and physically violent marriage with another individual. Jessica shares intimate details (while protecting the identities of those involved), including how not leaving her domestic violence relationship nearly landed her in prison for 25 years. Felecia gives valuable tips, strategies, and resources that abused men and women can utilize to receive help while in a violent relationship of any sort, and to help the abused persons escape the abuser.
