In today’s Gospel Jesus gives us a series of challenging commands: love our enemies, pray for those who persecute us, and be perfect as our heavenly father is perfect. These instructions may seem intimidating – how could we ever hope to be perfect? But the Lord is asking us to follow in His footsteps, and He gives us His spirit to help us.
