The mission of Earth Explorers is to open doors to science and engineering careers by educating and mentoring

underrepresented youth. Liz Sims and Carol Wiley describe their students as girls, minorities, students

living in poverty, and youth with disabilities, many of whom will be among the first generation in their

families to attend college. Using video and new media technology they connect young people to science and

future career opportunities in their communities, as well as establish networks of resources that will help

our students succeed beyond the classroom. Listen and learn what you can do to improve education for all of
