What happens when government policy, personal experience, history, and human behavior collide?
In this episode of Optimized Entrepreneur with Jeremy Hanson, Jeremy steps outside the typical business conversation to examine the forces that shape the environment entrepreneurs, families, and working Americans have to navigate.
The conversation begins with COVID-19 and the U.S. House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic’s final investigation. The committee’s 2024 report examined pandemic origins, government decision-making, public-health policy, school closures, relief spending, vaccines, economic consequences, and lessons for future pandemics.
Jeremy then turns to crime, property, and the real-world cost of theft, including his own experience having property stolen in Springfield, Missouri. National crime trends are more complicated than the original episode description suggested: FBI data subsequently showed violent crime and property crime declined nationally in 2024, making the discussion about the difference between national statistics and an individual's experience with crime particularly relevant.
Then things get strange.
Jeremy travels back to Strasbourg in 1518, when the infamous Dancing Plague reportedly drove groups of people into an extraordinary dancing frenzy. It's one of history's strangest episodes—and a fascinating window into fear, social pressure, stress, belief, and human behavior.
This is Optimized Entrepreneur beyond spreadsheets and business plans: economics, culture, history, government, risk, personal responsibility, and the unpredictable world in which entrepreneurs have to operate.

Work, Risk, Politics & the People Who Keep America Moving
In this episode of Optimized Entrepreneur with Jeremy Hanson, Jeremy returns to the microphone for a wide-ranging conversation about entrepreneurship, American workers, economic policy, courage, and what it means to Build Different.
Jeremy examines the debate surrounding tariffs and American manufacturing—not as a simple good-or-bad proposition, but through the lens of business owners, workers, prices, domestic production, and long-term economic strategy. U.S. International Trade Commission research illustrates those tradeoffs: certain Section 232 and 301 tariffs reduced affected imports and increased domestic production, while also increasing prices in affected industries.
The episode also celebrates Mary McGee, one of the pioneering women of American motorcycle racing. McGee became the first woman in the United States to hold an FIM racing license, competed in road racing and off-road events, raced Baja, and later became an AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductee. Her career provides a powerful example of persistence, risk-taking, and refusing to allow conventional expectations to determine what you're capable of accomplishing.
Jeremy also explores America's cultural and political divisions, including the tension between institutions and grassroots communities, the way political identity can affect how people treat one another, and why disagreement shouldn't replace independent thinking.
At its core, this episode asks a question central to Optimized Entrepreneur: Are you willing to think for yourself, take risks, work, build, and accept responsibility for where your life goes next?

If I Were the Devil — 2024 Paul Harvey Tribute
In 1965, legendary broadcaster Paul Harvey delivered If I Were the Devil, a chilling commentary about what he believed could slowly weaken America from within. Decades later, his words continue to be quoted, debated, and shared because many listeners believe they sound remarkably relevant to the world we live in today.
In this special Optimized Entrepreneur with Jeremy Hanson episode, Jeremy presents a 2024 tribute inspired by Paul Harvey’s famous broadcast, examining its message through the modern world of business, family, culture, personal responsibility, work ethic, leadership, and the American dream.
What happens when discipline is replaced by comfort? When personal responsibility disappears? When families weaken, hard work loses its value, and people begin expecting institutions to solve problems they once solved themselves?
This isn't simply a conversation about the past. It's about what entrepreneurs, parents, leaders, and working Americans can learn from it today.
Because building a successful business means very little if we aren't also building strong families, capable people, thriving communities, and a future worth handing to the next generation.
Bigger business. Stronger family. Greater freedom.

Do You Want to Make Over 6 Figures This Year?
Making six figures isn't about finding a secret formula. It's about building the right skills, systems, discipline, and strategy—and then executing when everyone else is still making excuses.
In this episode of Optimized Entrepreneur with Jeremy Hanson, Jeremy breaks down what it actually takes to push your income beyond the six-figure mark. Whether you're building a business, growing a side hustle, working in sales, or trying to turn a skill into something profitable, the principles are remarkably similar.
We talk about increasing your value, finding opportunities others overlook, creating multiple paths to revenue, improving your sales and marketing, building systems that scale, and developing the discipline required to keep moving when motivation disappears.
The goal isn't simply $100,000. It's creating a business and a life that give you more control over your time, your income, and your future.
Bigger business. Stronger family. Greater freedom.
