Something unusual happened recently here in Combermere. We had a change of editors for Restoration. It was only the 5th time in 76 years. Catherine and Eddie Doherty were the original editors and founders of the paper. Then, between 1975 and 2023, came Fr. John Callahan, myself, Denis Lemieux (now Father Denis), and Paulette Curran. Teresa Reilander is the new editor and is already busily engaged at the task of putting together an 8-page newspaper 10 times a year.

A Chitchat Apostate

An Interview with Mamie Legris by Paulette Curran

Catherine coined the phrase "chitchat apostolate" for what is exactly that: greeting the neighbors and all we come in contact with and chatting about this and that. It's a way of getting to know people, of loving and serving them, of building relationships and community. It leads to friendship and sharing on a deeper level, and it is often a vehicle for bringing people to God.
