Orange Lounge Radio

There's a video game company we've been following for a long time on our show, and just when we though maybe the company was moving in a new direction, they pull some stunts with a recent tournament that leaves one of our hosts seething. Should a video game company have better customer service, or do we have to accept some of the cultural differences? We discuss and debate on our program tonight. With the Thanksgiving holiday in the states on the horizon, the game releases are coming fast and furious. We cover all the news leading up to a huge release week to cap of a huge year in gaming releases. All this and more on another week of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

This weekend was Blizzcon, and the first one back in person since the pandemic as well as major internal issues brought to light within the company during the first years of the pandemic. How did this years event feel different? What were some good announcements, and what announcements bring concern? Do the upcoming expansions for Diablo and Warcraft have the content to justify the price of the expansion? Time will tell as we see what this major company in the industry has planned for the next year. We discuss this and many more other gaming companies and their news too on another week of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

Well, it finally happened, after so many months of hearings, legal challenges, and even leaked documents, Microsoft finally closed the deal with Activision / Blizzard a few days ago. Of course, this leads gamers to want to know... what Game Pass games am I getting? Ha ha ha. This also leads to many other questions as well, such as what happens to the industries most toxic executive. We discuss this and much more, as two of our hosts get ready to go to Twitchcon next weekend in Vegas. It all makes up another week of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

Next Year, total online support will be ending for the Nintendo WiiU and the 3DS. Although the eShop support was previously pulled for these systems, this is still a major event that has some game preservationists sad. At least one title will still keep the lights on, since this iconic franchise would suffer a bit of a setback if they didn't. Pour one out for those still playing their 3DS's as the lights go out in 2024.... but could a new Nintendo system be out by that time to help us forget? We talk about all this, our gaming weeks, and much more in the news on another week of the longest running video game podcast: Orange Lounge Radio!

A game near and dear to us turned 25 years old this past week, and we take time at the top of our show to reflect on our memories of what Dance Dance Revolution has meant to us over the years. Without it, we wouldn't have this show, and we're excited that the game has had a recent "2nd Mix" life to allow new generations to play it and bond over it. It's not just Memories (get it?) though, as we dive into the weeks news, including a major hack at Sony. Could this be something similar to what Sony experienced in the Playstation 3 era, or is the data that's been breached not that big of a deal all things considered? We discuss all this and much much more on another week of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

Just when you thought the news couldn't break any harder than it did last week, an avalanche of unredacted Microsoft documents was unleashed onto the gaming public by an oops of epic proportions. We get to see e-mails, concepts for yet to be released consoles, and so much more. We talk about some of the unredacted secrets, but also take a moment to call out some of those in the industry using this to create more clicks for their websites unnecessairly. It's all just another week in the gaming world, and we break it down on another episode of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!

What a busy week in gaming news? Who could have possibly predicted that Unity would indeed unify the whole industry against them by making a switcheroo change to their pricing. With some oddly timed sales of stock, could this go so far as to land a major CEO in hot water legally? Well if there's any justice in this world there might be... is what one host of Orange Lounge Raido says multiple times! All this AND two big "direct" presentations from Nintendo and Sony in the same day. Phew, what a week! Tune in to hear the wrapups on all this and much more on another week of a podcast that's been running so long it's older than Steam, Orange Lounge Radio!

And also while we were out, a long running gaming studio closed with their last game releasing on Playstation Plus within the same breath. Phew, it's been an action packed week, and we cover all the news on another episode of the longest running video game podcast- Orange Lounge Radio!

GamesCom happened this week, and we have much news to wrap up from that event. Earlier this week, however, Nintendo shocked many fans by announcing that Charles Martinet would no longer be providing the voice of Mario in their games, although he would be given a special ambassador role. We talk about why Nintendo might have wanted to make this change, and why they held off on naming the replacement. No, it's not going to be Clive, LOL. All this and much more news make up another week of the longest running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio!
