  • Child-like Faith
    Mark 10:13-16 NASB
    And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.

  • Will They Believe Me
    Exodus 4:1-15 JKV
    And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

  • Team

    Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NASB
    Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.”

    • Too many Christians believe they are on their own
    • We sometimes have this feeling of pressure to do things alone
    • Two are better than one
    • We are a body of believers for a reason
    • If you fall alone, rising up can be difficult
    • Two are able to lift each other up
    • This is true physically, and metaphorically
    • Two can help each other stay on the path they need to be on

    • We are stronger together
    • This is true of people and churches
    • As much better as we are together, we are only truly strong as 3

    • Independence Or Interdependence
       John 8:31-36 NASB
      “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”

      9. Independence means you are free, but alone
      10. Interdependence means you mutually rely on God
      11. Have you become free indeed from sin?

      13. Only With God
        Matthew 19:16-26 NASB

        16 And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain eternal life?” 17 And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” 18 Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony; 19 Honor your father and mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20 The young man *said to Him, “All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be a]">[a]complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. 23 And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” 26 And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

      14. Portrait Of A Father
        Matthew 1:18-25 NASB
        “18 Now the birth of Jesus the a]">[a]Messiah was as follows: when His mother Mary had been b]">[b]betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit. 19 And her husband Joseph, since he was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her, planned to c]">[c]send her away secretly. 20 But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for d]">[d]the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for e]">[e]He will save His people from their sins.” 22 Now all this f]">[f]took place so that what was spoken by the Lord through g]">[g]the prophet would be fulfilled: 23 “Behold, the virgin willh]">[h]conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Himi]">[i]Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.” 24 And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, 25 j]">[j]but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he named Him Jesus.”

      15. Be In The Light
        1 John 1:5-10 NASB
        “This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”
        1 John 2:15-17 NASB

        “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.”

      16. God Revealed
        Psalm 104:1-16 NASB

        “Bless the Lord, my soul!
        Lord my God, You are very great;
        You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
        2 Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak,
        Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.
        3 a]">[a]He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters;
        b]">[b]He makes the clouds His chariot;
        c]">[c]He walks on the wings of the wind;
        4 d]">[d]He makes e]">[e]the winds His messengers,
        f]">[f]Flaming fire His ministers.

        5 He established the earth upon its foundations,
        So that it will not g]">[g]totter forever and ever.
        6 You covered it with the deep sea as with a garment;
        The waters were standing above the mountains.
        7 They fled from Your rebuke,
        At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away.
        8 The mountains rose; the valleys sank down
        To the place which You established for them.
        9 You set a boundary so that they will not pass over,
        So that they will not return to cover the earth.

        10 h]">[h]He sends forth springs in the valleys;
        They flow between the mountains;
        11 They give drink to every animal of the field;
        The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
        12 The birds of the sky dwell i]">[i]beside them;
        They j]">[j]lift up their voices from among the branches.
        13 k]">[k]He waters the mountains from His upper chambers;
        The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.

        14 l]">[l]He causes the grass to grow for the m]">[m]cattle,
        And vegetation for the labor of mankind,
        So that n]">[n]they may produce o]">[o]food from the earth,
        15 And wine, which makes a human heart cheerful,
        So that he makes his face gleam with oil,
        And p]">[p]food, which sustains a human heart.
        16 The trees of the Lordq]">[q]drink their fill,
        The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
        Psalm 104:27-30 NASB
        27 They all wait for You
        To give them their food in a]">[a]due season.
        28 You give to them, they gather it up;
        You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.
        29 You hide Your face, they are terrified;
        You take away their breath, they perish
        And return to their dust.
        30 You send forth Your b]">[b]Spirit, they are created;
        And You renew the face of the ground.
        Psalm 104:33-35
        33 a]">[a]I will sing to the Lordb]">[b]as long as I live;
        c]">[c]I will sing praise to my God d]">[d]while I have my being.
        34 May my praise be pleasing to Him;
        As for me, I shall rejoice in the Lord.
        35 May sinners be removed from the earth
        And may the wicked be no more.
        Bless the Lord, my soul.

      17. You Are Not Alone
        John 14:16-26 NASB

        16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
        17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
        18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
        19 After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.
        20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
        21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”
        22 Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?”
        23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
        24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
        25 “These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you.
        26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

      18. Remembrance

        Memorial Day

        “Somebody died for me”

        “Every day is a gift to me”

        Perhaps, many of us think of someone who served and died

        We must remember ALL those who gave their lives for us

        Without remembrance we easily forget

        Deuteronomy 8:10-14 NASB

        Bless the Lord your God

        God gave us everything, and we must bless Him, and remember it came from Him

        When things are going well, and we are satisfied;

        We tend to get complacent about blessing God

        When times are tough, we quickly call on Him

        Verse 11

        “Beware that you do not forget”

        Then you will become proud

        We don’t just forget, but we credit ourselves with everything

        Verse 17

        We take the blessings of God, and after a while, credit ourselves

        Remembrance

        “I can’t live the way I lived or be the way I was”

        If we don’t remember, history repeats itself

        If I don’t remember, I will make the same mistakes

        Verse 18

        All those blessings come from God

        That somebody who died for me, that was Jesus
