As we think about “reframing Jesus,” we wonder what it could mean to approach the teachings of Jesus in a dynamic, evolving way. What assumptions are we as individuals bringing to our spiritual and social experiences, and can we move through these to be transformed in ways that create “a new world order?” As humans playing a part in evolutionary reality, we must constantly be held in the tension of letting go of the old and imagining new ways of being. We have a part to play in creating the world we want to live in.

This week we jump in to talking about Jesus. What images, feelings, words, do you conjure when you first hear the word “Jesus?” How can we reorient ourselves to him in light of evolutionary reality? How can we transform faith traditions from a static to dynamic experience? We reference Marcus Borg’s, Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time and Michael Morwood’s In Memory of Jesus. This week we talk about love as a human technology, what it might mean to make that a reality, and how we can imagine ourselves into new ways of being by dealing with what is. This is not easy work. It requires…wait for it…a daily spiritual practice. We reference a podcast between Nadia Bolz-Weber and Wilhelm Veorwoerd, whose grandfather was one of the orchestrators of Apartheid.

This week we talk about being in the wilderness and learning to see in the dark. Surely during this time we are in an immense groping — for meaning, for understanding, for a path forward. Hopefully these talks give you a little light, a little companionship along the way.
