The corruption that began in Micah’s house will now involve an entire tribe. The Levitical tribe was to be God’s representatives to the nation but this Levite is content to serve Micah for ten Shekels and a shirt year by year.

In this sermon, Pastor Miller covers 1 Samuel 1 where Hannah cries out to God for a son. Hannah was a woman with great problems in her life. She was infertile in a culture that valued women for their ability to produce children. She lived in constant conflict with a rival wife named Peninnah who provoked her and reminded her of her infertility. Hannah responds by taking her problems to the Lord and promising to dedicate the child to God. She trains Samuel and then releases him to serve the Lord. Hannah was a mother who successfully set Samuel on track to serve the Lord with his life. As an old saying goes, “An ounce of mother I worth a pound of clergy.”

In the wider context of Lucifer’s rebellion there are nations being judged for their rebellion. Those who rebel against God, regardless of if they are human or supernatural, will be defeated. The Levite pursues her and wins her back but on their trip home he allows her to be gang raped all night and then cuts up her body and sends it to the tribes of Israel. In this sermon, Pastor Miller covers Judges 10 where the tribe of Dan seeks an inheritance apart from what God has given them. By the end of the Danites, the Levite, and Micah will merge into one story.  As the Danites move to conquer the cities of Laish they stop at Micah’s house and steal his idols and the Levite who served as his priest. All three characters (Danites, the Levite, and Micah) are doing what they think will be best for them and they even claim God’s name on their actions.
