Luke 5 tells us of Jesus' call to Peter to "Follow Me".  Peter and the other disciples present leave everything and follow Jesus. Following Jesus is an action. In John 21, Jesus again calls for Peter to follow him, even to the point of death. Following Jesus is a lifelong call. Jesus tells his disciples in Matthew 16 that in order to follow Him, a person must give up their own way, take up their cross and follow Him. Following Jesus is an all-in decision. Have you ever had a conversation with someone and when a certain topic was brought up that was close to the heart of the person you're speaking to, they begin to speak passionately about that subject? When our hearts are stirred about something, there is a natural demonstration of passion. When we become "gospel-shaped" our hearts are changed by God. The gospel stirs our heart and we outwardly express what is in our hearts. In this message, Mark talks about the second half of the OBC vision...demonstrating the goodness of God in the world.

The gospel is multifaceted. The work of Christ saves us from our sin and brings us into the family of God. The work of Christ also affects the spiritual realm. Colossians 2:15 says that the cross disarmed spiritual rulers and authorities.
