Title New Treatments for Neuropathy: Take Control of Your Pain!
Neuropathy is a condition in which the peripheral nerves in the body become damaged. Multiple conditions, such as diabetes, chemotherapy treatments for cancer, or infections (e.g., shingles), can lead to neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy can be acute or chronic and affects the feet, hands, legs, arms, and even the neck and face.
You must consult medical experts when dealing with a complex problem like neuropathy. It is said that more than 30 million people are living with neuropathy in the United States. Whether your condition is mild or severe, there are different types of treatments available that can help in reducing pain and inflammation. You can choose from topical pain medication to prescription medications to alternative treatments as well. In this episode, we take a quick look at some of the treatment options for neuropathy.

Title: Treating Wounds With Low-Level Electrical Therapy: New Research
People suffering from chronic non-healing wounds are usually recommended exercises by their doctor or physiotherapist to strengthen muscles and improve circulation, which are vital for a healthy recovery. A new study suggests that low-level electrostimulation therapy could also be used to treat such wounds, as this therapy has previously been shown to increase metabolic functioning in treated tissues through increased mitochondrial activity in skeletal muscle tissue (in mice). The studies listed below describe some of the research related to electrostimulation therapies and wound healing that is available currently. Jump into this interesting research with us on the podcast!

Title: Mammogram? No Thanks! At Least, the Swiss Think So.
The Swiss Medical Board is stirring things up. We know – they’re supposed to be neutral, right down the middle. They take a neutral approach. Not, however, when the subject is mammograms.
In an issue of the New England Journal of Medicine, the Swiss step squarely into the “no” category when it comes to the use of mammograms. Their concern roots itself in the review of the literature and studies surrounding the procedure. There seems to be a gap in the perception and reality of the effectiveness of mammograms. So much so that they felt compelled to strongly recommend that women stop getting mammograms. Immediately. Right now. Pronto.
The interesting part? The reaction of the larger medical community. The two concerns: 1) It goes against what we thought we knew. 2) Women are going to be upset with the news. This is the pushback? Listen to our podcast for some insight in the matter.

Title: Why Radioactive Isotopes Surround Us: And What You Can Do To Protect Yourself
Look ma! I’m glowing!
It’s our worst nightmare. Radioactive clouds from some nearby damaged Nuclear plant singe our defenseless bodies, and we grow a third eye like those fish on The Simpsons. Don’t tell us this thought never crossed your mind. We know better.
The real issue? We don’t need to live nearby for radiation from an event like Fukushima to affect us. As one Canadian high school student just figured out – the fallout has arrived! Don’t panic, though. You have options and ways to protect yourself from these gnarly toxins. Check out our podcast for insights on what to do and how to thrive in this crazy Nuclear age!

Title: Retinitis Pigmentosa Treatment Now! Part 3 of 3: There is Hope for Sight
Hope. Boy, do we need it these days, especially with the challenges we face? As we’ve discussed, a lack of hope—when it comes to eye disease—plays a significant role in one's ability to work with and overcome the effects these diseases can have. It creates despair, which works against any kind of healing. It darkens the world, adding a burden to what the person already carries.
When we say Hope, we mean an openness to the possible, to the curious. Sure, one set of experts may say there is no hope, and ultimately, they may be right. But that does not mean I should stop looking or stop being curious. Hope allows for all things to be possible and for that possibility to have room to come into our lives if we let it.
For thirty years, individuals with serious eye diseases have found hope in Grace Halloran's and the Better Eye Health Program's work. They found hope, repair, and a reversal. We know this to be true.
Here is Part Three in our series on Retinitis Pigmentosa. This episode focuses on some of the Better Eye Health Program's treatment components, especially microcurrent stimulation. The whole program is covered at OrganicMD.com and in our book Stem Cells Heal Your Eyes.
EPISODE 67 - Part 2 of 3
Title: Retinitis Pigmentosa Treatment Now! Part 2 of 3: When You Limit Your Mind, You Limit Possibility
The mind is powerful. It can be the source of our strength and our demise – sometimes all in the same day. The power of suggestion or a certain message can have a great impact, especially if that message repeats itself repeatedly. If a negative “I’m not worth anything” message repeats itself in your mind – and is repeated by others in your life – then this message becomes the truth. From there, it can be very difficult to break free and find a better message to support you.
Here at Organic MD, we see this scenario all the time, especially with illness. If I am told over and over that “nothing can be done” for my illness or condition, well, that starts to become my truth. Nothing can be done is tethered to a message of hopelessness., a message of helplessness.
This is Part Two in our series on Retinitis Pigmentosa, an illness for which the phrase “nothing can be done” is all too familiar. Thankfully, thanks to people like Grace Halloran, we know that much can be done to not only stop but reverse this illness. She did this despite great negativity and little support from the medical world. Amazingly, despite her success and the ongoing work of the Better Eye Health Program, this “nothing can be done” attitude still exists.
Incredible.
Part Two focuses on the research being done on Retinitis Pigmentosa. This poses a challenge since, for all the money spent on research, the solutions are few. Everyone wants one big action rather than seeing that many smaller actions work better and more long-term. The point is that there are things you can do now. A new message presents itself then: “I can.”
EPISODE 66 - 1 OF 3
Title: Retinitis Pigmentosa Treatment Now! Part 1 of 3: Your Genes Are Not Your Destiny
Serious eye disease is well…serious.
For many with these conditions, the message is one of no hope and few options for lasting treatment. Thirty years ago, this message bothered Grace Halloran, who felt that something could be done if you looked closely at the problem. She did just that, and now we have a program many use to reverse their eye disease. So there is hope, after all.
We at Organic MD are dedicated to this approach to health: looking at what is possible with effective methods of healing from different traditions. If it works, it’s worth exploring more. Sometimes, modern medicine forgets this and chooses to draw from a limited well. Grace reminds us that the power of curiosity can create positive change. Today’s podcast is Part One in a three-part series on Retinitis Pigmentosa and a treatment for this challenging disease. You can learn something about our basic healing system, which, if supported, works miracles.
EPISODE 65
Title Microcurrent Therapy: A Powerful Therapy That's Here For You Today
Have you heard of Microcurrent Stimulation therapy?
For the last thirty years, Microcurrent Stimulation therapy has proven to be a powerful tool in physical therapy. In 1985, Robert Becker, M.D., in the book The Body Electric, used microcurrent stimulation to regrow the limbs of rats. Yes, rats!
We are leading with a more fantastical example just so you know what’s in store. Soon after, sports medicine and physical therapy began to adopt this technology to speed up healing and recovery time for those with muscle and tissue injuries. Not only does it encourage blood flow, but it also serves as a method for activating Adult Stem Cells. These cells are part of our natural healing system, which these types of injuries greatly benefit from.
About twenty years ago, Grace Halloran realized that this amazing technology could improve the eye program she developed for degenerative eye diseases. Microcurrent stimulation helps the eye tissue heal faster and speeds up the other techniques she developed for the benefit of the eyes. We continue to use the Microstim 100i Le unit with great results in our Better Eye Health program.
More recently, I’ve heard of people exploring the use of microcurrent stimulation to aid in pain management for dental surgery and even Shingles. We can accomplish so much by simply being open to what is possible. This is very inspiring. Our podcast explores this proven technology and its potential role in healing. We need ways to encourage our Adult Stem Cells, and microcurrent stimulation is a great way to do it. Having used it so extensively, Dr. Miller is a great resource for speaking about this important therapy.
