In this episode I talked with WORLD News reporter, Lauren Canterberry, about the new Pew Research Center Religious Landscape Study. We talked about what all was in the study and why Protestantism, across the board, is in decline. We also discussed why Catholicism is actually on the rise and why young people are looking for structure and comprehensive theology rather than vapid and disingenuous theology found in the Evangelical church. I hope you enjoy!

It’s been well documented over the past decade that mainstream media is on its way out while new and independent outlets are on the way in. It’s also been well documented that Protestant Christianity in the West is in moral decline. Theologians, pastors, authors, and laymen have forgotten that a Christian conviction is comprehensive and should touch every aspect of a believer’s life. This was common knowledge throughout church history; if you’re a Christian at church, you also have to be a Christian at home, at work, and at school. No exceptions. You even need to be a Christian on Election Day and in your involvement in politics and government. But, it seems that Christians in America haven’t been able to put the pieces together.
There has been so much talk of “third-wayism”, voting Democrat as a Christian, and “respecting everyone’s political opinions” as if politics is somehow detached from theology. The fact is that politics are not detached from theology - in fact, it’s actually an extension of theological conviction. To be Christians, we must care about policy, law, and governance in our country. We must care for and will the good of others in our society, beginning first with those in our own home and then working our way out to the rest of society. And the only way we can do that is by knowing what is actually happening around us, in our city, state, and country. We have no be informed to be able to act in love.
I’ve found it disturbing to see different news outlets in the Christian realm fail to make the connection between theology, politics, ethics, and morality. Because, in reporting the news, you have to have moral clarity (something the American church has lost). Orthodoxy & Order is going to be different. I won’t equivocate on moral issues like abortion and transgenderism like so many Protestants have in recent years. No, in fact, I will aim to tell it like it is - an immoral world requires Christians to be moral and just in their words and actions. Orthodoxy & Order will do just that. Every week on Friday I’ll bring you the news from the past week with clear, theological commentary and precise reporting (along with some other interesting facts, book recommendations, and historical quotes). Christ brought us Orthodoxy and Orthodoxy produces clarity and Order, thus, I have named this newsletter Orthodoxy & Order. I hope you enjoy!

In this episode I respond to a video that was released by Gavin Ortlund yesterday in which he explains why he thinks that he is not a liberal. Gavin says that there are three reasons why people call him a liberal, but I argue that it’s not that Gavin has three liberal views, but rather that Gavin has an entire framework of thinking that is indistinguishable from liberalism. All of my sources are below. I hope you enjoy!

In this episode I got to talk with Eric Kaufmann. Eric is a professor at the University of Buckingham in Buckingham, England. He was previously a professor for over 20 years at Birbeck, University of London where his job and livelihood was attacked by the woke mob. We talked about this in our conversation. We also discussed why so many Americans (and Westerners more broadly) don’t trust their institutions - whether that be universities, government agencies, or legacy media. Eric argues that we have to reform these institutions, not just destroy them or let them die. We also talk about the future of Conservatism in the West and if post-liberalism is the way forward.
This was a great conversation and I hope you enjoy!

In this episode, I discuss a new report from City Journal in which they obtained chat logs from within the NSA that are filled with sexual immorality and transgender ideology. I connect this to the church in America and organizations like Christianity Today and The Gospel Coalition gaslighting people into ignoring the greatest political and moral problems of our time. I hope you enjoy!

We also discussed how he interprets and studies the Bible. I hope you enjoy!

In this episode, I talked with Leah Savas about new abortion legislation around the country, IVF and if it’s immoral, and Lila Rose debating 25 pro-abortion activists. We discussed the way in which Democrats and liberals twist language in the law to push their agenda and if Lila Rose’s tactics in debating pro-abortionists were actually persuasive.
Leah Savas is a reporter at WORLD News where she focuses on the issues of abortion and IVF. She has a newsletter called Vitals where she reports on the pro-life movement across America. She is also the co-author of a book called, The Story of Abortion in America. I hope you enjoy!
