The DMA has critical implications for Free Software, as the law enables installation of software in devices, interoperability and data portability against very large corporations (known as gatekeepers). During this session of OSBA meets, the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE), would like to provide members with insights related to the current developments surrounding the DMA. The FSFE has been focused on safeguarding software freedom against restrictive and unlawful practices by these gatekeepers, such as Apple. For instance we have intervened in a pivotal EU court case and have been collaborating with the European Commission.
