Ricky, Lex, Kenzie, and Nicole kick off 2023 with a look at the 2023 Oscar race! The last few weeks have seen various critics groups anoint winners, precursor nominations kick in, and narratives take form. The panel discusses what this all means for the upcoming Academy Award nominations.
Ricky, Jillian, Kenzie and Nicole are joined by Bobbi to discuss Damien Chazelle’s Babylon! The film stars Diego Calva and Margot Robbie with an amazing ensemble. Written and directed by Chazelle, the film is set in the late 1920s and follows the film industry in the transition from silent films to talkies.

Lex, Nicole, Jillian, and Kenzie are joined by guests Ema, Cassie, and Zoë to discuss Women Talking. The film stars Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Judith Ivey, Ben Whishaw, and Frances McDormand. It was written and directed by Sarah Polley and based on the 2018 novel by Miriam Toews. The film's story was inspired by true events in the Manitoba Colony in Bolivia.
The film premiered at Telluride Film Festival and has been listed as one of the top ten films of the year by both the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute. It will have a limited release on December 23, 2022, before expanding on January 20, 2023.

It is directed by Maria Schrader and based on the New York Times investigation that exposed Harvey Weinstein's history of abuse and sexual misconduct against women by Jodi Kantor, Megan Twohey, and Rebecca Corbett, and the 2019 book of the same name chronicling the investigation by Kantor and Twohey. Their investigation was awarded the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
