    This Sunday, Pastor Ben Fitzgerald shares a message about the church as a
    spiritual family—one where believers stay devoted, strengthen one another,
    serve actively, and guard against drifting into isolation or
    complacency. From the beginning, the church was designed to be a family
    devoted to God’s Word, prayer, fellowship, serving one another, and
    gathering around the table. Like coals in a fire, we strengthen one another
    when we stay close, but isolation can slowly cause our spiritual fire to
    grow cold.

    titled “He Gives Power” from Acts 1:1–9. Jesus promised that the Holy
    Spirit would give His followers power—not merely as an idea, but as an
    active ability at work within them. That same promise is for believers
    today. Through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to witness, strengthened
    in our weakness, filled with hope, given boldness in the face of fear, and
    equipped to live a Spirit-filled life that reflects the fullness of God.
    The Christian life was never meant to be lived in our own strength. As we
    surrender more fully to the Holy Spirit, His power becomes increasingly
    evident in and through us, allowing others to see God at work in our lives.

    titled “The Third Person: Meet the Helper.” In John 14 and Acts 1, Jesus
    promises the Holy Spirit as the Father’s gift to believers—the divine
    Helper, Comforter, Advocate, and One who comes alongside us. The Holy
    Spirit is not an impersonal force or merely an “it,” but a person who is
    eternal, active, and present, dwelling within believers and empowering them
    to live for Christ. He comforts, teaches, guides, equips, sanctifies,
    produces spiritual fruit, and points every part of our lives back to Jesus.
    This message is both a reminder and an invitation: do not grieve or quench
    the Holy Spirit, but welcome Him fully, live the Spirit-filled life, and

    be left alone—He would send the Holy Spirit, our Helper, Comforter, and

    presence is not simply something to understand intellectually; it is
    something we are called to recognize and respond to. Throughout Scripture,
    people responded differently when confronted with the presence of God—some
    moved toward Him with worship and surrender, while others ignored,
    resisted, or withdrew. The same choice remains before us today. When the
    Holy Spirit makes His presence known, our response should be to move toward
    Him, yield our lives to Him, and welcome His work within us. As we learn to
    recognize and respond to the Holy Spirit, our walk with Christ becomes
    deeper and more fulfilling, because in His presence there is fullness of
    joy.

    This Sunday, Pastor Greg shares a message titled “Cut the Moors” from Psalm
    42:1–8. God is always calling us deeper—to move beyond the safety of the
    harbor and into a life of greater trust, dependence, and spiritual
    maturity. Too often, we stay moored to what is familiar because comfort
    feels safer than surrender, but God cares more about our transformation
    than our comfort. The deep need within our souls can only be met by the
    deeper riches, wisdom, love, and presence of God. Sometimes those deep
    waters bring correction, and sometimes they bring growth, but in both, God
    is drawing us closer to Himself. If we are unwilling to cut the moorings,
    we may never discover how much more there is of Him. The invitation is
    clear: cut the moors, set sail, and go deeper with God.

    This Sunday’s message, “Choosing the Better,” comes from Luke 10:38–42 and
    the story of Mary and Martha. Martha was busy serving, but she became
    distracted, anxious, and concerned with what others were doing, while Mary
    chose to sit at the feet of Jesus. The same struggle still confronts us
    today: distractions, expectations, and the pressure to manage everything
    can slowly pull our attention away from Christ. Jesus reminds us that one
    thing is necessary—to choose the better portion by remaining close to Him.
    Our weakness is not a disadvantage when it leads us to greater dependence
    on God; in fact, dependence is exactly where His strength is revealed.
    Instead of trying to control the room, carry every burden, or live for the
    approval of others, we are called to sit at Jesus’ feet, trust Him, and
    choose a life of devotion over distraction.

    This Sunday, Oso Creek Youth Pastor Ben Fitzgerald shares a message titled
    “When God Calls: The Life of Peter.” Peter’s story is filled with
    incredible moments of faith alongside moments of fear, doubt, failure, and
    restoration. Yet through it all, Jesus continued to call him, shape him,
    and redeem him. Peter reminds us that discipleship begins with a life
    surrendered to Christ, and that obedience—even in uncertainty—allows us to
    see God move beyond our expectations. When we fail, the enemy may use
    condemnation to convince us that our mistakes define us, but Jesus has
    already paid the full price for our redemption. We must never confuse the
    conviction of the Holy Spirit, which draws us back to God, with the lie of
    condemnation, which drives us away.

    Joy of the Lord Is My Strength.” Life brings real grief, struggles, and
    seasons when our own strength is not enough, but Scripture points us to

    rejoices over us, and through Christ sees us clothed in His righteousness.
    His thoughts toward us are not defined by the negativity we so often carry
    about ourselves—He is for us, present with us, and takes joy in us. That
    joy becomes our strength: a stronghold and place of protection when we walk
    through deep waters, difficulty, and sorrow. The Lord remains near to the
    brokenhearted, hears us when we call, and is our help and deliverer. When
    life leaves us weak, we can stand secure in this truth: His joy over us is
    our strength.

    status, recognition, and self-sufficiency, Jesus turns that idea upside
    down. He teaches that true greatness in the Kingdom of God begins with
    humility—a willingness to become dependent, teachable, obedient, forgiving,
    and free from selfish ambition. Pride pushes us to make more of ourselves,
    but Christ calls us to surrender that pride and become more like a child
    who trusts the Father completely. Through Jesus, we are made new and
    invited into a life marked not by personal greatness, but by faithful
    dependence on God. When it comes to pride and self-sufficiency, Christ does
    not call us to grow up—He calls us to grow down.
