Introduction to the Prophets of Israel

Sukkot is God's way of reminding us that He is faithful to both Israel and the nations.  He alone is our security and hope.

God doesn't just want to give a spiritual "check up" to Israel (and all of us) just so we will face the reality of our need for forgiveness.  He also wants us to find relief in the solution that HE provides.

Yom Kippur is like God's annual spiritual exam for Israel.  The only hope of fixing the problem is to face the reality that there is a problem that needs to be fixed.

The Sabbath of Repentance falls between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  It is a day to remember that God welcomes a relationship with us that begins with faith and repentance.
