Pro wrestler "The Kingpin" Brian Milonas and referee Mike Crockett have done a few podcasts highlighting the "founding fathers" of New England pro wrestling and this time, just a few days before the 10-year anniversary of his passing, we focus on the nucleus of the local wrestling landscape and an all-time legend, Walter "Killer" Kowalski! We both had the opportunity to be around Walter in his later years, and we share some memories of meeting the man, visiting the old school in Malden, Massachusetts, his vegetarian lifestyle, his favorite stories, our understanding of the origin of the nickname "Killer" and more. Then, New England Championship Wrestling promoter and noted wrestling historian Sheldon Goldberg (@necw) joins the show to school us on Kowalski's unreal in-ring career, Walter's friendship with WWWF promoter Abe Ford, Killer Kowalski's Institute Of Pro Wrestling (one of the nation's first wrestling training facilities), the IWF (one of the first so-called independent promotions), his studio wrestling TV show Bedlam From Boston, the death of the sold show, the true legacy of the man as wrestler and teacher and so much more! If you're reading this and you're a wrestling fan in New England, or anywhere else to be honest, you owe a debt of gratitude to the late Walter Kowalski.
Also in this episode, a Promo About Nothing that's definitely NOT a blast, a referee correction for episode 1-2-3 and will Crockett be buffing a ROH World Six-man championship belt?
