  • Episode 3: Trust Your Gut (Literally) with Caroline Niemeier, Mom to 3, SLP, IBCLC

Before having kids, Caroline Niemeier, was a pediatric feeding therapist, but it didn't prepare her the challenges she'd have to navigate when her first was born. Now 3 babies and 3 very different feeding experiences later, she's sharing her journey what each of her kids taught her.

In this episode we talk through:

    • Multiple releases with no therapy, 10 weeks of triple feeding, and the 16 month release that did the most
    • Doing everything "right" with her second, and still having a baby who screamed for hours and fell off his growth curve
    • Constipation, food reactivity, gut dysbiosis, and why mom's gut matters too
    • Normal newborn fussiness vs. red flag fussiness to dig deeper
    • Her message for parents and providers

  • Episode 2: Tongue Tie Myths

Tongue ties are a hot topic right now, and everyone has an opinion! In this episode, we're busting the most common myths and misconceptions we hear from families (and providers).

    We cover:

    • "Ties are just a fad" - ties have actually been recognized for centuries
    • Why ties can affect bottle feeding too, not just breastfeeding
    • The "passenger princess" baby, and why feeding challenges might not show up in the first 3 months
    • Why a release is not a magic fix, it's only one piece of the puzzle
    • Why not every provider is trained to assess or release ties, and why who you see matters
    • "They'll just grow out of it" - why that band of tissue is never gonna stretch and grow
    • What "it's just a mild tie" really means, and why 45 minute feeds and constant clogs are not mild
    • Plus, why "we all turned out fine" is not the bar. It's not about being fine.
