Many of us feel our pets are family, but what is that special bond? We’ll look into that remarkable inter-species relationship and talk to the author of Weekends with Daisy about a unique prison program that trains service dogs to assist people with disabilities.

Later, we’ll talk to Michele Pich, a pet loss and grief counselor from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital about ways therapy dogs can help us and how we express bereavement when we have to let go.
