Seth Campbell, PA-C at Valley Health Partners, joins the podcast to talk about street medicine. The episode will highlight how the street medicine movement got started in Calcutta, India and has now grown into an international movement with the establishment of the Street Medicine Institute. Josh "JJ" Rivera, criminal justice navigator, for the Valley Health Partners Street Medicine Program joins the podcast to talk about his unique role on the street medicine team. JJ is able to bridge the gap between jails and the street medicine team. He is able to continue to meet with existing patients and create connections with possible new patients. Finally, we talk about how this position allows for the ability for street medicine teams to know their patients have the medicine they need upon release.
