  • Episode 9: The U.S Gov't is giving HBCUs some love!

    This week we talk about the amazing medical breakthrough in the field of medicine!  The FDA has approved a method that can cure sickle cell disease.............oh, but it'll cost you 2.2M!!!  We'll also cover the U.S Government's latest initiative.  They are providing 12 Million to 8 HBCUs through its Data Science Equity, Access, and Priority in Research and Education (DEAP) initiative. The funding will support the creation of curriculums and immersive learning experiences that are centered on artificial intelligence and machine learning.     A young man in Texas was suspended and thrown into in school suspension because of his hair!! The CROWN act was passed in the state the very week he was thrown into ISS.  Why are black children being targeted because of their hair and how they choose to wear it?  Affirmative action has been gutted by the highest court in the land and now schools and businesses are acting accordingly.  How does this effect diversity in the board rooms? In the classrooms?
