Out Here Chasing Pars

This week I’m joined by arron from Nothing to Zero, and we kick things off with a golf intro that’s a bit different to most.

We chat about:

How he first got into golf

Getting back into the game because of his son

How special it’s been spending so much time together on the course

What clubs he’s using and whether he’s fitted or not

His home club Westerwood — which sounds fun, challenging, and absolutely on my list to visit

Then we dive into arrons incredible new challenge since turning 50:

 #50Fore50 — playing 50 different courses in a year

He’s currently 4/50, with one of them being the unreal Dundonald Links… on what was probably the windiest day in Scotland this year

If you can help arron on his journey and would like to invite him to your home course, reach out to him — it would mean a lot.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how his challenge unfolds.

Thanks again to Arron for joining me — and good luck, mate!

Thank YOU all for being part of the growth of this podcast. I couldn’t do this without your ears and your support.

And thanks to Shot Scope for backing the show.

It’s an absolute pleasure to welcome back Malissa — the first-ever guest to make a second appearance on the podcast!

After breaking the internet with her photoshoot, we just had to sit down and chat again

This week we dive into:

Her ladies-only golf event at New Cumnock Golf Club

The incredible fundraising she’s done for group coaching for women — wait until you hear how many golfers she’s helped get free coaching

How generous her home club has been in supporting new lady members

Her highly anticipated calendar ( you’ll want to hear about this!)

More on her personal journey, her content, and her growing platform

The amazing Secret Santa event organised by the wonderful @golfbykate

Our plans to head down to the society golf weekend

… and plenty more from one of the real rays of sunshine in the Instagram golf community

Be sure to give Malissa a follow across all her social channels — she’s doing brilliant things for women’s golf

Despite the name, Peter is neither grumpy nor old — and this turned into a brilliant chat.

A lefty who started as a junior before drifting away (as so many do), Peter actually found himself playing high-level cricket and football for years. Golf only returned to his life just before Covid, becoming the perfect way to stay active with far fewer injuries.

We dive into:

His home club and what keeps him coming back

 WITB — and yes, he’s definitely a one-brand fanboy

The putter he games… which just happens to be the one I want to try

How GOGGS started and where the society is heading

The future of their content and community

All this and plenty more — a great listen with one of the GOGGS lads.

Make sure you follow them at the links below… and tell them I sent you!

Episode 25 – Out Here Chasing Pars ft. Leigh & Ben aka @Twin2Win_Golf

Episode 25 is here — and it’s a long one! Honestly, I could’ve chatted for hours with these two. Twin brothers Leigh and Ben join me to dive into golf, content creation, and their growing podcast journey.

We get into:

Their very different paths into the game

A bit of classic WITB chat

What club they’d choose tomorrow if they could pick any in the world

“The putter picks the player — the player doesn’t pick the putter” (iykyk)

 Their home course

How they got into creating content

Why they decided to start their own golf podcast

How impressive their quality is already — the video editing alone is fantastic (yes, I’m slightly jealous )

We also touch on:

 Pro golf

 General golf chat

And wrap it up with a round of This or That

Make sure you follow the lads and check out their podcast — tell them I sent you!

Episode 24 – Out Here Chasing Pars ft. Steven Chandler, The Golfing Butcher

This was genuinely one of my favourite chats so far. Steven — The Golfing Butcher — joins me to talk all things golf, content, and community.

We kick things off with the classics:

How he first got into golf

 What’s in the bag

His original Slazenger V300 package set

We dive into:

How cheap golf can really be — including Steven’s challenge where he tried to get everything he needed to play for under £50… and then attempt to break 50 on the front 9 at his home course. (Should I try this challenge too?)

His passion for his home club Hadden Hill — a place that should be proud to have him representing it. Honestly, he made me want to travel down and play it myself… and that’s exactly why I started this podcast in the first place.

 His content journey

The new people, friendships, and connections he’s made through golf

Why the golf community truly is the best — and I absolutely stand by that

All this and so much more — so put the kettle on, grab a biscuit, and strap in for a brilliant conversation

Episode 23 – Out Here Chasing Pars ft. Ally (Hosted by Kieran from KMG)

Time for something a little different…

A lot of you have been asking about my story, my clubs (yes — all the ridiculous sets I’ve been through ), and the journey behind the podcast.

So for this episode, I handed the reins over to my content partner Kieran from KMG and let him host.

We dive into:

My journey through courses over the years

The hundreds of clubs I’ve zig-zagged my way through

How big this podcast can grow and where it’s heading

A bit of YouTube Internet Invitational chatter

… and plenty more along the way

A fun, honest chat from the other side of the mic — come give it a listen!

Episode 19 – Out Here Chasing Pars ft. Darren aka @DoozyGolfYouTube

Warning: It’s a long one — so get your steps in, hit the gym, or settle in with a nice cuppa (biscuit included, I hope!)

You might need a translator with our accents coming together, but it’s worth it

In this episode, Darren opens up about:

His football career — and the horrific injury that cut it short (sorry, Dundee fans )

Getting back into golf and rediscovering the love for the game

His club fitting and what’s in the bag

Starting Doozy Golf and bringing a refreshing perspective to golf content

Our shared love for @crungolf (we swear this isn’t a paid ad )

A little This or That – Golf Edition

… and plenty more ramblings along the way!

It was a pleasure having Darren on — can’t wait to get out for a round soon!

Episode 22 – Out Here Chasing Pars ft. Stu (@StuTalksGolf)

This week I’m joined by StuTalksGolf, member of Nottleys Essex, where it’s no mats on the fairway and temp greens only when absolutely needed

We chat about:

His Swiss Army knife of clubs — that hybrid he uses for everything! What’s your go-to club like that?

A classic WITB — and yes, he’s still gaming his original clubs (sensible if you ask me!)

The Rife package set — have you tried them?

The Trust golf ball — ever heard of it? We share our thoughts

How he started creating content a year ago and built his golf podcast, available on Spotify and (most importantly) YouTube

His brilliant series TeeTalk — a fantastic concept you should definitely check out (Episode 1 is live now!)

Where he wants to be in 12 months if we have this conversation again

And of course, a fun round of Golf This or That to finish it off

Go give Stu a follow and check out his content — this one’s packed with great chat and good vibes!

Episode 21 – Out Here Chasing Pars ft. Mr Ross Bell

This one is special.

Without Ross, this podcast might not even exist. He got me into podcasting years ago, I’m still part of his team today — and he was the one who pushed me to start this show. He even handles the editing and uploading so I can just record and run the socials. Legend 👏

In this episode we talk about:

🎧 How Ross first got into podcasting

🏌️‍♂️ When & why he started golfing

🪓 Hoarding clubs — if you think I’m bad, wait until you hear how many sets he’s owned 🤯

🌍 Courses around him & his favourites so far

📍 Bucket-list courses he wants to play

🧠 The importance of golf & golf with friends for mental health — or in Ross’ words: “Golf is good for the soul.”

All that and plenty more — a great chat with the guy who helped make this podcast possible.

Big thanks as always to Shot Scope —
