The topic of this week’s episode is on postpartum depression, and may be a sensitive discussion to listen to for some. Please consider this a soft ‘trigger warning’ and a request to be gentle with yourself in choosing the time and space you might choose to listen to it. After hearing about the personal experience of postpartum depression from our first guest, Amanda, we’re joined by Dr. Cassidy Freitas, who is a therapist that specialized in postnatal care, and has incredible resources for both mothers and fathers that experience postpartum depression, anxiety or OCD.
Amanda Carter Gomes began her career in marketing, event management, production and PR. In July of 2017 Amanda launched her latest endeavor: The Fold, an online publication for "women of an uncertain age and particular attitude", to fill the void in online content for women beyond the millennial age range. She and her husband, Matt, live with their two sons in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Cassidy Freitas is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in San Diego, California.
