Oftentimes we celebrate the major evidents. However, when you are living in this able bodied world as a disabled person, you must take the small wins to stay encouraged. I hope that something that you hear would give my listeners the courage to celebrate the small wins.
In this episode, I explore the horror of death. My brother’s death was sudden and cruel. I remark upon the vacancy that his death leaves. If being disabled was not enough, my brother dies on my parents’ 60’s wedding anniversary.
The war raging inside of me wages continually. It is the battle amongst my ideologic, theoretical, and actual self. I seek refuge but there is none. I know that I must tap into some great inner power. But, how do I lessen the fear, dread, and the hopelessness that comes with a disabled reality to combat this traffic noise? My prayer is that out of the aches of Sciatica comes a fortified will. I hope is that this episode touches another who is embattled.
