On Tuesday, June 30th, the Supreme Court ruled that states have sufficient justification to ban transgender student athletes from participating on teams that correspond to their gender identity. And while this decision is specific to the context of sports and does not create a license to discriminate across other areas of public life, it is a clear and deliberate effort to erase trans people who simply want to exist in peace.
