It’s an organization that supports LGBTQ+ athletes and fans, and works to make athletics more inclusive and welcoming for everyone. He’s an All American wrestler, a former theater major (and FOREVER thespian), game changer, and a visible Ally. Hudson opens up about owning your ignorance, why “Ally-ship” should be synonymous with sportsmanship, and the moment on the wrestling mat that changed his life forever. This episode is all about OUTWOD's OPEN+ Leaderboard for the CrossFit games! Every year, athletes from around the world compete in a global competition called the Crossfit Open. However, the leaderboard divides people into 2 categories: Male/Female, and doesn’t allow transgender folks to compete as their identified gender. This forces them to compete as their gender assigned at birth.

OUTWOD's OPEN+ is the first leaderboard that won’t put people into gender categories. It breaks down barriers for transgender and non-binary athletes – making the whole experience more inclusive. We also dive into our love of Lady Gaga, other queer icons, and whether or not you’d rather have a bowler hat sewn to your head forever, or a monocle superglued to your face forever.

Yay! You found us! This is our very first episode, so to kick things at OUTCast Podcast off, we wanted to talk about the first time that each of us felt “other.”

For Brooks, our own American Idol, it was as a teenager on stage at a VFW during a singing competition, belting out “Son of a Preacher Man.” For Alex, it was something that happened in the tragic last 5 minutes of her 9th grade art class. For Will, it was as a first grade cheerleader in rural Texas.

We also get into which emoji we want to represent 2019, and the queer movies that helped shape us. Kim Cattrall even makes a cameo…kind of.
