Our 10th episode, yes we’ve made it to 10! features Kirra Cheers a photo-based artist originally from Australia, but now residing in the US. We learn a little about Kirra's ‘accidental’ start in photography at 16, and discuss a couple of her projects including Tinderella. Whilst curating an art show about modern romance Kirra developed her idea for this project, and we hear all about it, including how it was perceived by the media. We also discuss how her subsequent project ‘The List’ was created and how you can see more of it.
History of photography of this week sees us focus on Roger Fenton, who born in Lancashire, UK was one of the first was photographers. We discuss his photography career as well as a little on that famous canon ball shot, and hear why Kirra isn’t that fond of Fenton.
