“A work of art is a work of order, and if the artist is to put the stamp of his own mind on his own work he must arrange, modify and dispose of his materials so that they may appear in a more agreeable and beautiful manner than they would have assumed without his interference” Henry Peach Robinson
Welcome to the Outerfocus Podcast!
Joining us this week, broken foot and all, we have Jordi Cervera. We hear how Jordi was influenced by his Grandfather who was a painter, and discuss his journey and path to becoming a fashion, portrait and editorial photographer. We also touch on a variety of topics such as his views on Instagram; books which inspire him; as well as his work in Ibiza.
Born in Shropshire, England in 1830 Henry Peach Robinson is this weeks choice for our history of photography segment. Henry was best known for being a combination printing pioneer, in which he joined multiple fronts or negatives to form a single image. We take a look into his journey from being a bookmaker and painter to a pictorialist photographer, and discuss some of his well known images such as ‘Fading Away’.
