This week we had a guest speaker Chad Mansbridge bring us a word on the ABC's of receiving from God as we continue in our season of prayer and fasting while pressing in to the things of the Spirit.

As we step into what might be a very familiar story - the conversion of Saul of Tarsus - may we be freshly astounded at what God did. May we further participate in what God is doing now, confident that He speaks to us, He works through people, and nothing is wasted with God. 

Shane walks us through the 3 A's of hospitality. In an encouraging word he reminds us to consider how we can be a hospitable part of someone else's journey.

We all receive many benefits because of the family we are a part of. Whether that's having a dad who is a carpenter and can help you with renovations, or a mum that's a nurse and can help take care of you medically in many ways. 

Nick reminds us of some of the many benefits that we receive because we are a part of God's family.

Christy takes a look at what God's design for community looks like in its fullness. How practicing hospitality amongst a community of believers shows the world a beautiful expression of God's love in a way that can't be expressed as an individual. 

Sometimes hospitality can be awkward! In our Sunday Gathering on 28/08/2022 Shane continued our series on hospitality, looking at how every act of hospitality makes people less like a stranger and more like family.

Looking at the example of Peter in Galatians 2:12, we see how easily we allow the world around us to influence our hospitality more than Jesus does. Jesus ate with sinners. We are called to practice hospitality with people very different from ourselves, and this starts with those in closest proximity to us, our neighbours. In a world with a rejection complex, we are called to include, and few things say welcome better than a meal.

In the first week of our 4-part series on hospitality, we learn that hospitality is bringing someone along the continuum from stranger to family.
