Our pride ultimately is a restricting authority that enslaves us in a mindset of self-preservation. Christ frees us from that authority and enables us to live in humble submission to our earthly authorities.

Our identity - “who we are” - is often rooted in what we can accomplish and produce - “what we do.” But when we come to realize that God has chosen us as His child, we discover that both our identity and purpose comes from Him.

On Good Friday, we look at the incredible injustice of Christ crucified.

On Easter weekend, we look at the incredible injustice of our resurrection, made possible by Jesus' resurrection.

Christ-centered love is not conditional. In fact, loving those who have not earned or deserved our love is perhaps the most Christlike thing we can do; in doing so we emulate the very love Jesus showed for us on the cross.

Jesus teaches that life in the kingdom of God runs counter-cultural to the prevailing wisdom of the world. Is our contentment, joy, and sense of worth attained through Jesus? Or have we fooled ourselves into thinking that we can find these things elsewhere?
