The distinguishing mark of a Christian is a life led by the Holy Spirit. When we are led by the Spirit, our desire shifts from being selfishly motivated (by pride, shame, etc) to being motivated by the things of God.

Any teaching that claims that our salvation is dependent upon works is false, destructive and enslaving. Christ has freed us from the burden of the law. So how can we live in a way that is truly free?

Most of us default to the idea that we must be good in order to be accepted by God. But the blessing of God does not come to us through our goodness, obedience - or any work of our own. God's blessing comes to us because He loves us.

Worshiping anything other than God results in slavery. We are often led to believe that following our affections will lead to happiness, but unless we are letting the gospel shape our affection first and foremost on Jesus, we will find ourselves in a self-made prison.
