Christmas represents a time of togetherness, peace, and joy – feelings that have seemed foreign lately in our culture.
There are divisions, many that run deep, separating our communities and families. Scars of racism have left an undeniable impact in our neighborhoods. Many marriages, once vibrant and thriving, are marked by selfishness and hostility. Political differences have severed close friendships.
We are a divided people longing for togetherness – for true joy.
And soon it will be Christmas.
Christmas is more than simply a cultural holiday, much more than a temporary reprieve from the real divisions that separate us. Christmas is a celebration of the tangible, lasting hope in a God who transcended the divide between Himself and mankind to offer real, lasting peace.
