As of Friday 5:30pm, over 50,000 homes are without power prior to Tropical Cyclone Alfred making landfall. 

Danny Donald from Energex told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "The Gold Coast, that's really copping a whack, and have done all day, but that we expect that, those outages to start, creeping north into the Redlands, more into parts of Logan possibly, and into Brisbane and north again."
