Episode 29: Parenting queer with Kay (she/her/they/them) & The Queer Parenting Partnership

Today Kay discusses parenting and perinatal support for LGBTQ+ families and other marginalised communities. 

There is a distinct lack of support and representation within perinatal healthcare services for LGBTQ+ families so we talk about these challenges and barriers. One of the biggest barriers is a distinct lack of education around LGBTQ+ identity, and what it means to be a family.

Kay does a fantastic job of providing support for LGBTQ+ families and challenging the idea of there being certain gender roles within families.

This episode is important for dealing with LGBTQ+ visibility and representation in healthcare, as well as dismantling the gender construct.
