This week on Parent Tell, Kaila tackles how isolating it can feel when you become a parent but live far from your best and most supportive friends and family members. Speaking with fellow military spouse, Leslie, the two moms discuss how FOMO can hit pretty hard when you see other friends reaping the benefits of living down the street from family (hello, free babysitting) and friends (hello, bonus aunts and uncles to dote on the kiddies and support you at the same time). Whether military affiliated or not, living far away from the ones you want to surround you and your kids can be really tough. But for Kaila and Leslie this does not change their confidence in their choices to live far from home, it just means there are more logistics involved when it comes to getting help and also maintaining the relationships that matter the most to them and the relationships they want their children to have.
